Departure 2093 is an editorial reference collection about the long-range future of air travel. It documents a futures publication from 2008, its contributors and its five concept aircraft, and it does not sell anything.

Editorial standards
Quotations, job titles and figures on this site are reproduced as they were published in 2008, with the contributor’s position as stated at that time. Where a claim has since been superseded, the page says so rather than silently correcting the original.
Several contributions referred to filmed interviews that were published in a video format now unsupported, and whose files were not preserved. Those pages record the quotation and the speaker rather than presenting a player that cannot work.

The five concept aircraft published in 2008 were drawn by Kauko Helavuo of Studio Kauko Helavuo and remain the copyright of their author. They are not reproduced here. All illustrations on this site are new work produced for this reference and are described as such on the pages where they appear.
Corrections
